Description
This study of Fundación Telefónica seeks to contribute to make visible healthcare problems that appear at an early age as a result of child labor and thereby to raise awareness throughout society to contribute to its eradication, especially those that are considered the worst forms of labor. It describes the accidents and illness which arise from child labor, their causes, the reasons why they are more frequent in children than in adults, and their physical, psychological, social and learning consequences.
Due to a lack of previous studies on the kind, Fundación Telefonica´s study is based on information gathered from 134,202 children who took part in the Proniño program, an initiative deployed in thirteen countries of Latin America aimed to eradicate child labor through education.
