The project is in line with Fundación Telefónica’s initiative to recover photographic archives by delving into the company’s Photography Files, which has since been expanded by the photographers Luis Ramón Marín, Josep Brangulí and Virxilio Vieitez.
This is the first retrospective devoted to the author. The project is in line with Fundación Telefónica’s initiative to recover photographic archives by delving into the company’s Photography Files, which has since been expanded by the photographers Luis Ramón Marín, Josep Brangulí and Virxilio Vieitez.
This display, curated by Valentín Vallhonrat and Rafael Levenfeld, comprises over 160 black and white photographs that trace the author’s professional history in three blocks of different styles: pictorialism, from 1922 to 1928; evolution towards modern visual solutions, up until the early 1930s; and New Vision, from 1930 to 1936, which is when Arissa became a fully fledged representative of avant-garde photography.
