Discover the gateway to the digital professions of the present and the near future.
At Fundación Telefónica we want people to be able to learn about and take advantage of the possibilities offered by technology in such essential areas as education and employment in a context in which the demand for technological skills has increased.
One of the free projects focused on preparing people for the work that is currently in demand is the 42 programming campuses:
- A free learning method open to people over the age of 18, with no prerequisites or prior knowledge and a complete break with the traditional educational model.
- A programming campus that opens the door to peer-to-peer training, without teachers, books or classes.
- A model aimed at training students both in digital skills, the most in demand today, and in what are known as ‘soft skills’: resilience and adaptation to change, frustration tolerance, creativity and, above all, teamwork, among many others.
The 42 programming campuses in Madrid, Urduliz (Bizkaia), Barcelona and Malaga are a gateway to the digital professions of the present and those of the near future.
Career week’ in 42, get to know the reality of the labour market
For this reason, with the aim of showing all the possibilities that the technological field offers in terms of employment, the campuses have organised a two-week ‘Career Week’ with an agenda of talks, discussion panels and initiatives that will show all the potential for professional development that technology has.
From 17 to 28 April, 42 Madrid, 42 Urduliz (Bizkaia), 42 Barcelona and 42 Malaga have held various activities focused on:
- Providing professional guidance to students on the campuses through talks and panels in which experts in areas such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, cybersecurity, gaming, etc. will present the most in-demand professional opportunities and the knowledge required to apply for them.
- Promote STEAM vocations and bring the 42 methodology closer to both secondary and vocational training schools, with which we collaborate through sessions aimed especially at them.
- To show the reality of the labour market both to students on the campus and to people interested in it through talks with experts on how technology is advancing and has become an accelerator of change in the labour market.
During the two weeks of this initiative, the 42 programming campuses have also provided the opportunity for all those who participate in its programme of activities to get to know in depth what has made the 42 methodology and its learning centres the most innovative programming campuses in the world.
But what is so different and innovative about our 42 programming campuses?
We tell you in 4 key points:
- A learning method that completely breaks with the traditional educational model.
- A programming campus that opens the door to peer-to-peer training, without teachers, books or classes.
- A completely free model, open to people over 18 years of age and with no requirements or previous knowledge.
- A model aimed at training students both in digital skills, the most in demand today, and in what are known as ‘soft skills’: resilience and adaptation to change, frustration tolerance, creativity and, above all, teamwork, among many others.
