While digitalization has delivered numerous social, economic, and healthcare advances, it has also deepened the social and digital divide, particularly affecting those without equal access to technological transformation. For this reason, in this fast-moving world, we must all be prepared to avoid being left behind. Including those most vulnerable to digitalization means we need to implement targeted projects for one of the groups most at risk from the digital divide: older people.”
RECONECTADOS. Technology is ageless, is a complete and free programme that seeks to boost the digital capabilities of seniors and their direct environment. The programme consists of face-to-face workshops, online training and educational resources for their direct environment, whether they are family members or professionals.

Reconectados Rural
Reconectados Rural is a free project by Fundación Telefónica, part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and funded by the European Union through the Next Generation EU Funds, aimed at improving digital skills and mobile phone usage among seniors in rural areas with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants in Spain.
The program’s purpose is to reduce the digital divide that particularly affects these areas, training people over 65 years old during 2025 and 2026 in Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Extremadura, Community of Madrid, and Andalusia.
