Using big data and artificial intelligence, the Employment Map analyses job vacancies in digital professions
According to data from the Employment Map, the digital profiles most in demand by Spanish companies in the third quarter of 2024 were Software Developer, ICT Consultant and Digital Project Manager. Compared to the previous quarter, the first position remains unchanged; ICT Consultant moves up one position and the current third position displaces ICT Professional Technician.
The Employment Map; our tool based on Big Data and Artificial Intelligence analyses the job offers published in the last three months on the Infojobs, Tecnoempleo and ticjob portals to show, in a visual and interactive way, the most sought-after profiles and digital skills in the Spanish employment market.
Most sought-after digital profiles and skills
The latest data published in October registered a total of 57,164 job offers for digital professions in Spain.
The five most sought-after profiles were:
- Software Developer, with more than 7,790 vacancies.
- ICT Consultant, with some 7,600 job vacancies.
- Digital Project Manager, with more than 4,660 vacancies.
- ICT Technical Professional, with more than 4,620 job offers.
- Digital Marketing Specialist, with more than 4,470.
In addition to information on job offers for digital profiles, the Employment Map also provides data on the most sought-after digital skills or competencies in the market.
During the last three months, Cloud Computing has been the most sought-after skill, present in 5,743 of the job offers published. This skill is followed by Java, in demand in more than 5,440 vacancies; in third place, JavaScript in just over 3,100 vacancies and GIT, present in 2,849.
Where are more digital profiles needed?
If we analyse the data on the supply of vacancies for digital profiles according to their location, it is the Community of Madrid that tops the list with the most vacancies offered: a total of 15,124.
Second place goes to Catalonia, where a total of 11,831 vacancies have been registered in the last three months, of which more than 10,900 are in the province of Barcelona.
The bronze position is held by Andalusia with 3,016 vacancies, where Malaga is the province with the highest number of vacancies – 1,140 – followed closely by the province of Seville with 1,082.
The Valencian Community is in fourth place, two positions higher than in the previous quarter, with 2,760 job offers.
