The RECONECTADOS, technology is ageless programme of Fundación Telefónica has won the first SUPERCAREGIVERS 2024 award.
The prize acknowledges natural and legal persons for their work and activity aimed at improving the quality of life of the elderly and people suffering from any kind of illness or in a situation of disability and/or dependency.
Luis Prendes: “We’re living in a fascinating era, in an unparalleled digital revolution, an industrial revolution that Spain, for the first time, hasn’t arrived late for. However, during this revolution we can’t ignore the people who, with their efforts, have given us the present we have. The over-65s have to play a key role in this revolution and not be mere spectators”.
In the case of candidatures from companies, entities and organisations, the SUPERCAREGIVERS awards recognise social responsibility-related services and actions and volunteering related to the figure of the caregiver, the elderly, the sick, the disabled, dependants and other vulnerable collectives.
The award thus recognises the work of RECONECTADOS. Technology is ageless, which promotes training in digital skills for the elderly through face-to-face workshops, online courses and training resources for family members and professionals so that they can accompany them in their digital adoption process. It also promotes debate on digital adoption through meetings and congresses.
“We’re living in a fascinating era, in an unparalleled digital revolution, an industrial revolution that Spain, for the first time, hasn’t arrived late for”, declared Luis Prendes, managing director of Fundación Telefónica, who, together with Iñigo Audibert, head of Volunteering and Social Action, collected the award. However, during this revolution we can’t ignore the people who, with their efforts, have given us the present we have. The over-65s have to play a key role in this revolution and not be mere spectators”, explained Prendes.
