The “Mobile Classroom” project is an innovative proposal consisting of technological equipment, educational resources and teacher training, aimed at improving teaching in urban and rural schools.

Cusco, September 2015.- Fundación Telefónica presented in Quispicanchis its project the “Mobile Classroom”, an integral proposal (technological equipment, tools and teaching training), which is aimed at improving the use of technology to have an impact on teaching in schools, and to reduce the digital gap in marginal urban and rural state schools of the country.

The “Mobile Classroom” consists of a mobile station, a computer which operates as a network server (intranet system), educational resources, multimedia projector, monitor, speakers and an instruction manual, in order for the project to be copied in any school of the country. This mobile station will enable simultaneous interconnection of technological equipment through an access point (up to 40 laptops), supply them with energy (solving the problem of a lack of sockets in the classroom) and storing the devices of the school in a safe and orderly manner.

The “Mobile Classroom” also has digital education programs, such as the Peru Educa server tools, animations, mathematical, physics, communication contents and videos. It also has an offline version of Educared (educared.fundacion.telefonica.com.pe), an education community that includes teacher training resources and practical tools, such as a school civic calendar, bank of learning sessions, teacher guidebooks, etc.

The presentation took place at the, Huacatinco school and was attended by Elizabeth Galdo, director of Fundación Telefónica in Peru, Eulogio Cruz, Director of Ugel Quispicanchi; Hilton Nahuamel, Provincial Mayor of Quispicanchi; José Barrientos, Mayor of the district of Ocongate; Juan Quispe, Governor of Ocongate; plus other education authorities of the region.

This project will benefit 737 schoolchildren from a total of six schools of the Rural Network of the Fe y Alegría organization of Quispicanchis.
