A catalogue with more than 20 free online courses to boost digital competences and skills, and connect society to the new digital employability so that no one is left behind. This edition, which Fundación Telefónica will be launching from 1 May, offers technical and transversal training in entrepreneurship skills, project management, use of new technologies and tactics to boost job hunting.
At Fundación Telefónica, training never stops. With the end of one edition of courses comes a new batch of training aimed at boosting people’s digital skills, reinventing their profile and helping them to become the professionals demanded by the employment market. As of 1 May, we are launching a new edition of our Job Connect courses, the free online digital training programme that aims to connect society with the new digital employability, so that no one is left behind.
From introduction to programming, web design with HTML5, basic and intermediate Office, to videogame design… The project has a wide catalogue with more than 20 free, quarterly MOOCs offering technical and targeted training, and transversal training in entrepreneurship skills, agile methodologies and new ways of working. The courses are aimed at both the unemployed and professionals who want to improve their employability, and are delivered online through the Fundación Telefónica’s Job Connect training platform.
In 2022, in line with our commitment to boosting people’s employability, Fundación Telefónica added new training courses to its catalogue that offer participants the keys to face the changes of an increasingly digitalised society: ‘Design a High Impact CV‘; ‘Guide to Successful Job Interviews‘; ‘Brand building‘; ‘Public and digital presentations‘; and ‘Effective Negotiation Tactics. These and the other courses available are suitable for everyone and do not require any prior training or technical knowledge.
Digital training to connect with the new employability
Digital skills and competences have become essential in the new employment market. An environment characterised by an accelerated transformation of a large part of the productive sectors, by the digitalisation of processes and by the demand for professionals prepared to act in environments of uncertainty and change. In this context, digital training is indispensable. Throughout 2021, the Conecta Empleo programme benefited almost 300,000 people in Spain, with nearly 1.7 million hours of training. The courses are taught among the different projects that Fundación Telefónica has underway: online training courses, Campus 42 (Madrid, Urduliz-Bizkaia, Barcelona) and Lanzaderas Job Connect.
Among the most popular courses are the different modules of the ‘‘Nanogrado Construction 4.0’, a training course promoted by Fundación Telefónica, CEOE and Fundación Laboral de la Construcción, which aims to boost the digitalisation of this sector. Also, from the complete catalogue of Job Connect courses, the MOOC ‘Digital Marketing’ stands out, with almost 2,000 people trained in 2021, ‘Learn WordPress the easy way’ and ‘Office’, with almost 1,000 people signing up to each course; ‘Basic Principles of Big Data’ and ‘Project Management with Agile Methodologies and Lean Approach’.
