Proniño race: “The aim is to educate for a future full of opportunities”

The ambassador of the Telefónica Foundation, Teresa Perales, has joined in the challenge of the Proniño Race offering her support to all participants.

Running so that the most vulnerable infants in Latin America have a future full of opportunities. Almost 5,000 participants, children and adults, have participated in the sixth edition of the charity run in favour of the Proniño program, which for 10 years has contributed to children’s schooling. This year, the ambassador of the Telefónica Foundation, Teresa Perales, has joined in the challenge, and she will be responsible for firing the starting gun at the starting line.

The charity race in favour of Proniño is one of the Madrid’s regular sporting events. Almost 5,000 participants, children and adults, have contributed with their participation, meaning that thousands of children will be schooled in the 14 countries in Latin America in which Telefónica is present. This is the year that has seen the greatest number of participants in the race, and the €23,600 raised will contribute towards the Proniño program.

In the sixth edition, the ambassador of the Telefónica Foundation, Teresa Perales, has joined in the challenge with the aim to encourage and support all of the participants in the race so that they achieve the goal. The aim: promoting equality of opportunities for the most forgotten groups in education.

The Paralympic swimmer, who has won 22 medals, has been chosen to fire the starting gun at the starting line. Additionally, in the runner’s bag there was a bracelet with the slogan “We are capable of anything”, which represents the strength and willingness of Teresa, the attitudes to be conveyed to the participants of the Proniño race.

As in previous years, some of the most well-known Spanish athletes have participated in the 2015 edition, like Chema Martínez, Martín Fiz or Abel Antón. Our ambassador, Teresa Perales, was responsible for firing the starting signal and cutting the finishing tape.
