Telefonica Foundation Energizes One of the Days of They Speak Code

The 42 Madrid programming campus, venue for the first edition of the ‘They Speak Code’ technology bootcamp, once again became a hub of creativity, positive energy, and technological talent on Saturday, November 22. The more than 100 children taking part in this ‘technology camp’ enjoyed a morning full of challenges, lots of technology, and plenty of excitement.
Within the framework of the ‘Ellas Hablan Código’ initiative, promoted by CODE together with various entities and companies, including Telefonica Foundation 42 Madrid, hosted a day focused on learning about the technological challenges that everyone has to face, as well as the digital rights that guarantee that the fundamental protections and freedoms of the physical world also apply in the digital environment.
The more than 100 children who participated in the activity learned, in a fun and engaging way, about privacy and the security of personal data; equal and non-discriminatory access to the internet; and their digital protection in digital environments.

With this activity, Fundación Telefónica, as the driving force behind the Digital Rights Observatory, aims to ensure that young talent understands the framework in which the internet and technology must become tools that undoubtedly promote their growth and development, but always in a fair and equitable manner.
During this session, the technological talent of all the young people participating in this series of educational workshops was further enhanced by the involvement of Telefónica volunteers who, throughout the day, guided and supported them in solving the challenges presented.
The 42 Madrid programming campus has once again become a hub of technological talent where, in addition to learning technology, those who visit its facilities discover why the 42 model is considered one of the most innovative in the world. With no lectures, no teachers, no fixed schedules, and 100% hands-on learning, the method fosters and promotes transferable skills such as creativity, critical thinking, teamwork, and communication.
