The ‘Volunteering Day’ and ‘Escolas Rurais Conectadas’ projects have been acknowledged for their innovative and sustainable procedures.

More than a word, sustainability is a concept that only makes sense when it is transformed into action. When sustainable procedures are acknowledged within the world of business, they become an example for other companies to also adopt measures related to social and environmental responsibility. The 14th Marketing Best Sustentabilidade Marketing Award acknowledged sixteen innovative cases at a ceremony held on 25 August at the Philip Kotler auditorium in São Paulo.

Fundación Telefónica Brasil received two awards at the ceremony for the projects Volunteering Day and Escolas Rurais Conectadas. The first award was received by Gustavo Gachineiro, vice president of Corporate Affairs and Communication of Telefónica Brasil, and Luis Fernando Guggenberger, director of Social Innovation and Volunteering of the foundation. Both dedicated the award to all their team of volunteers.

“These people donate the most valuable asset of humankind, which is time, to transform our society. Therefore, this award is for all of them”.

Mila Gonçalves, director of Education and Learning of the foundation, received the second award. In her speech, she highlighted the importance of collaboration team work of Fundación Telefónica and Telefónica Brasil in the success of the Escolas Rurais Conectadas project. The GVT Institute, which has recently joined Telefónica Brasil, also received an award for their Digital Invoice project.
