Description

The authorities or independent boards of audiovisual communication started in English-speaking countries with the famous FCC, and have since developed considerably around the world in recent years to such an extent that their international association, the EPRA, now covers more than 40 countries. The subject is particularly relevant at the present time in Spain as the only country in the European Union without an independent authority in this field. However, there are already good experiences in some Autonomous Communities that do have boards, such as Catalonia and Navarre, which meet European standards, and there has been strong media discussion on this subject in recent months. The dossier is intended to recount these international and national experiences with contributions from numerous specialists and different points of view. All when the government has announced a forthcoming bill.
